En primer lugar aclaro este tardío post que llevo varios días sin aparecer porque estoy muy liado con los exámenes, los estudios son lo primero. Y como tengo poco tiempo voy a hacer una entrada corta.
No se cuantos de vosotros habeis visto alguna vez un partido de West Ham en Upton Park, pero os propongo que lo hagais para poder escuchar el "I'm forever blowing bubbles".
Esta canción comenzó siendo la sintonía de un musical de Brodway a finales de los años 20, y fue en esa fecha cuando los hinchas hammers la adoptaron como cántico.
En la actualidad es reconocido internacionalmente como himno de West Ham y como uno de los mas bonitos del mundo futbolístico, para mi sin duda lo es.
En la parte cultural podeis ver la película Green Street Hooligans que gira en torno a la vida de los casuals hammers, donde aparecen cantándolo en su adaptación al español(que no me gusta nada por cierto).

Mi ex-novia galesa era supporter de West Ham y me tenía loco cantando y con todo lo relacionado con los Hammers.

De pequeño tenía en la academia de inglés a un profesor de Londres que era del West Ham, una gran persona llamada Alan, con el que siempre bromeaba sobre su equipo, desde entonces siempre le he tenido cariño a ese equipo.
Y el himno, son muchos los himnos ingleses que te llegan por la pasión con la que son cantados, pero el YNWA y este, los mejores con diferencia.

Esta misma canción fue versionada por la banda de street punk llamada Cockney Rejects, que son hinchas del club. También The Business (creo) y Cock Sparrer (seguro), otras dos bandas punk británicas, son aficionadas a los Hammers, sin contar que han tenido la publicidad de Doctor Martens (las clásicas botas de trabajo inglesas) en la camiseta durante largo tiempo. Sin duda alguna, un club muy ligado al movimiento casual, los skins tradicionales y la clase trabajadora londinense. Me caen bien!
